Thank You Peter Jackson

After a labor conflict, earthquake in New Zealand and loss of director Guillermo del Toro. Peter Jackson finally stepped in to rescue the troubled prequels and ensure that filming would finally get underway. For fans who didn’t believe that Jackson was actually involved with the series he launched a new Facebook page with new photos of him on the set of the new LOTR prequels. Movie fans, especially LOTR fans are rabid for details and authenticity so Peter Jackson even took the photos a step further by specifically dating the photos and displaying the morning’s newspaper in one of the photos just to insure the fans that the movie was really going to happen.
 

What to Expect

The Lord of the Rings prequels features British actor Martin Freeman (Sherlock & The Office) as Biblo Baggins and many of the actors from the first trilogy will be featured in the prequels as well like Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Christopher Lee as Saruman and Cate Blanchett as Galadriel. The first two films in the prequels are expected to be released in December 2012 and the third will be released a year later. To make these prequels even more successful than the first LOTR trilogy Peter Jackson is shooting them in digital 3-D plus Howard Shore, who composed the original score for the first LOTR trilogy will compose the score for the prequels as well.

Radar quoted a “well placed insider” who said that CBS president and CEO Les Moonves has been speaking with top executives at Warner Brothers Television and also co-creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre about bringing the troubled star back.
 

Charlie Sheens Leverage

Could it be the supposedly $100 million dollar lawsuit that Charlie Sheen filed against Warner Brothers and Chuck Lorre that is forcing them to put him back to work? Has the saga been part of a well calculated strategy to boost the ratings of Two and a Half Men? Or is it Charlie Sheen’s mastery of the media and the Internet that is forcing Warner Brothers to bring Sheen back? Regardless of the reason Sheen has proven his genius over recent weeks by waging a well calculated war with Warner Brothers and CBS online through social media websites like YouTube and Twitter. Sheen’s Twitter followers recently passed the 3 million mark which is an awesome indicator of the stars power to draw attention to himself and capture the interest of the entire world.
 

It Gets Even Better for Charlie Sheen

Besides getting brought back to work on his hit television show Two and a Half Men Charlie Sheen could find himself in the driver’s seat of his very own late night show. This is good news for the fans who bought tickets to his Torpedo Of Truth shows but it’s also a sign that television networks aren’t stupid when it comes to capitalizing on media sensations like Charlie Sheen and Conan O’Brien who also went on his own one man show last year after being fired from his job of hosting the Tonight Show on NBC.

Wherever Charlie Sheen ends up one year from now he will mostly likely be a power player in some capacity on television and his fight with Warner Brothers will become the blueprint that scorned television celebrities will follow for years to come.

Case In Point

If you go to YouTube and type in the name Alexandra Wallace you will see firsthand an example of cyber bullying at its worse. Mrs. Wallace, a 20 something woman UCLA student and valley girl posted a 3 minute rant against Asian students who use their cell phones in her school’s library. In her video she also uses her stereotyped version of the Asian language while urging Asians who are attending UCLA to use “American manners”.

Wallace’s video went viral and generated a HUGE backlash against her that even she probably didn’t expect. The video even made its way to the pages of the New York Times and resulted in offending even more Asians than Alexandra Wallace ever thought possible.
 

What’s The Solution To the Problem?

Cyber bullying isn’t going to go away anytime soon thanks to how easy it is for children to connect to the Internet and always be online in some capacity. The ease in which Alexandra Wallace was able to record, produce and upload her video is an indicator of how easy it is for hate to spread in the Internet age.

The only solution to the problem is for more parents to actually take the time to be more aware of what’s going on in their children’s lives. The only way that’s going to happen is if the parents themselves disconnect from the Internet and spend more time talking with their children face to face instead of text messaging, emailing or chatting with them over the Internet.

Strong Ties to Golfing

Alyse Lahti Johnston recently moved to Windermere Florida to train for the LPGA after graduating from Ohio State University. Johnston’s step- father, Alastair Johnston, who is on the board of Tiger’s sports agency IMG hired a private coach to help his step daughter achieve her dream of making it on the LPGA Tour the private coach who ultimately introduced Johnston to Tiger Woods.

Radar Online reported over the weekend that Woods and Johnston have been dating for several weeks around the Windermere area which is also where Tiger Woods lived with his ex-wide Elin Nordegren when their marriage imploded last year after news surfaced online about Tiger’s many flings with women around the world.
 

Not Taking Tiger Seriously?

Former classmates of Alyse Lahti Johnston have said that she’s not taking Tiger seriously because he’s 13 years older than her and she likes to party. Johnston was arrested on suspicion of DUI on October 9th of last year and that mug shot was posted on the Radar Online website. Johnston’s father hired a high profile attorney like the rich often do in Florida and she was able to plead no contest to a charge of reckless driving. After taking a DUI course she received a final improper change of lane and the case has been closed.

Whatever happens between Tiger Woods and Alyse Lahti Johnston is anyone’s guess. With the media spot light and her wild child ways it doesn’t look like this relationship will last for long as everyone who represents Tiger Wood’s best interests are eager for him to get back to his glory days of old and keep the negative media attention off him.

Captures Media Attention

As business savvy Sammy Hagar is he’s also media savvy and he demonstrated his ability to capture media attention again over the weekend when in an interview to promote his new book Hagar claimed that he was abducted by aliens.

During the interview Hagar, 63, tells us about the experience “It was real, aliens plugged into me”. The rocker then went on to claim that aliens tapped into his mind through a wireless connection and were able to download or upload something into his brain.

Hagar went onto to talk about his time with Van Halen and the new album that the group supposedly has in the works with original lead singer David Lee Roth “I heard it’s not so good” Hagar went onto say about the album even though representatives for Van Halen are denying that there is a new album in the works.
 

Not His First Contact with Aliens

As the interview to promote his book “Red: My Uncensored Life In Rock” went on, Hagar went on to describe another experience with aliens that he had at the age of four years old when he say an alien spaceship hovering across his families property. “At the time I thought it was a car without any wheels” Hagar said. Could these encounters with aliens be the explanation for Hagar’s musical genius that has kept him in the spotlight for over 30 years with bands like Montrose, Van Halen and other super groups? It’s anyone’s guess. One thing for sure Sammy Hagar won’t be going away any time soon. Hopefully he will still be rocking when he’s in his 80’s and sharing more tales about experiences with aliens.
